Anika noni rose is an American actor and vocalist. Her most well-known role is her character Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog. Tiana was Disney's very first princess of African descent. The year 2011, Rose was honored as a Disney Legend. Rose starred as Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born June 6, 1972) is an American actor and performer. Most famous for her voice as the voice of Tiana In The Princess and the Frog The very first African American Disney Princess. Disney Legends named her as one of them in 2011. She is best known for her role as Lorrell Robinson as the film that won an Academy Award Dreamgirls (2005) and for her portrayal of LaVerne Jinglebox Ganner in the Starz the series Power. Also, she is well-known for her work in the stage, especially for the starring roles of Emmie Thibodeaux and the Broadway production Caroline or Change (2004), for which the Tony Award Best Musical Featured Performance was given to her. Also, she played Beneatha Youther from the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2015) for which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Play Featured Performance nominated her.
